Cullen
Successful at the British Championships
The
Cullen Pipe Band traveled to Birmingham to compete at
the British Championship on Saturday, June 28th.
The band was delighted with a fourth place result against a
field of sixteen other bands in their grade.
Having won the worlds in 2007 the group was upgraded to grade
3A and this was their first contest of the season. Next week will
see the band travel to Ennis to participate in the All Irelands
Competition.

Congrads to John Murphy & Collette O Connor
for qualifing in the Junior Drumming and Junior Piping respectively
at the All Ireland Solos. And also to Collette for coming 3rd in the
B Grade Piobaireachd.

On Friday 31.08.07 Our Pipe Major
Margaret Houlihan-Dunn won the Silver Medal in
Piobaireachd at the Northern Meeting in
Aviemore, Scotland.

Our Pipe Major Margaret Houlihan-Dunn
added the A-Grade March to her 2003 Win of the A-Grade Strathspey &
Reel, and thus becomes the first female piper ever to be allowed to
play in a Former Winners' MSR at either the Argyllshire Gathering or
the Northern Meeting

Cullen Pipe Band has won the World Pipe
Band Contest in Grade 3B in Glasgow.
The Band also won the Best Drum Corps
making it a clean sweep on the day.
